Seentinel privacy policy
Last updated on 21 August 2026.
Seentinel is developed by Menno Menninga (MenNow-IT), based in the Netherlands. This policy explains what the app does with your data. It applies to the app only, not to this website.
What the app collects
- App activity (stored locally)
- Your watchlist and viewing progress are stored in a database on your device. They are never uploaded.
- Search terms (sent to your metadata provider)
- What you search for is sent to whichever metadata provider you selected in the settings, so it can return results. Nothing about your own list goes with it.
Third parties
- TheTVDB
- One of the two metadata providers you can choose between in the settings. Supplies series and film details plus artwork. See their privacy policy.
- The Movie Database (TMDB)
- The other metadata provider you can choose. Supplies details, artwork, ratings and where a title can be watched. See their privacy policy.
- Trakt
- Optional, and only if you sign in yourself: the app then reads your existing watch history from Trakt so you do not have to start from scratch. Traffic goes one way, the app never writes anything back to Trakt. See their privacy policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Data that never leaves your device is outside our reach: uninstalling the app removes it. For anything else, write to info@mennow-it.nl and you will hear back within thirty days.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes are announced in the app's release notes.
